Why pay for amtrak discount codes when you can get them for free? Just do a google search. You can find these codes at:
1) the amtrak web page - click on the deals tab and look for the Adverstised Specials - remember also to look at the weekly specials (rarely in the NorthEast though). The promotion codes you see people selling are often listed here.
2) frommers web site (travel site) - just type in amtrak in the search box and then look in deals and news in the results
3) the flyertalk web site - this is a little tricker to use - but is often the most up to date. Go to forums - and scroll down to the bottom to "other travel programs/partners" - where you should see Amtrak. Click on the Amtrak topic and the fist message lists the current discount codes and their restrictions.
