Bicast leather~what is it~is it leather?

Bicast leather is a term that pops up more and more as one searches for leather products, I know I was not sure what it meant when I first saw the term so I decided to do some research. Bicast leather is produced by splitting the thickness of the hides, producing top grain and a split grain portion.Bicast is the split grain portion of the leather with a plastic type coating, generally very shiny, it's very similar to Patent leather (be sure to keep it away from a strong heat source), it is easily cleaned with just a damp cloth so great for use in areas that have children or lots of wear and tear. The top of the leather is also treated with a polyurethane to ensure the shine. This is a great product for someone wanting leather but not have to pay top dollar, functional, easy to clean and looks beautiful. This is a great selection for someone on a budget but wants the appearance they are not!!
