JUNKJEWELRY AS INSPIRATION...
These lots are so popular on okay that I'm gepiling a list of uses for the junk, broken, craft, parts, bits n'pieces, and this n' that jewelry. Much of this is vintage, and those lotsusually have the most interesting assortment. Some of these ideas came from my wonderful ebuyer artists. Manyoptions may be familiar to you, but there's hopefully something new to get your creative juices flowing. If I receive additional ideas, I'll be sure to add them.
These lots are always perfect for children's craft projects. But please sort through all lots carefully first. There are sometimes loose pins, etc...
XMAS Tree Art - These are done with a collage of smaller broken jewelry pieces in the shape of a Christmas tree. I've noticed these are all the rage now year round, but when I initially wrote this guide they weren't as popular. They appear to sell for major $ on okay and elsewhere.
All sorts ofaltered art, mixed media art, and mosaic type creations. I own adeer head entirely covered in jewelry pieces. It's the most amazing piece of art that I've ever seen! I just try to forget the fact that there's a deer under all that jewelry. Well, I think there is. It's on my ME page if you want to take a peek!
These lots open up a world of possibilities for patio, porch, fountain, etc... outside type decorations especially because you can often find many shell necklaces.
Furniture Adornment. This works much better if you paint it in bright, lively colors first.
Jewelry Box Decoration - I believe people tend to use the vintage Mele and Buxton boxes. The sky is the limit here! This looks like a rather time consuming craft activity. However, the result makes it worth it.
Picture Frames/Mirror Frames - I've seen these in artisan stores, and they are stunning AND very expensive. Look for rhinestones, and patience. I think you need both of those for the frame projects.
Useful with costumes for Halloween or theater. Or set decoration.
Create purses using wooden cigar boxes - I've also seen these in stores, and they don't look easy to make. But they are gorgeous, and I wanted to mention them.
Turn a boring lamp shade into a spectacular one - Just an idea. There may be some potential here...
If you wantsome very unique wind chimes, then you'll find these lots are a great source for materials. However, that's about all I know there.
Handmade Christmas Ornaments and/or Wreaths - this is probably pretty obvious. So many possibilities.
Embellish a plain photo album or diary to create an incredible one of a kind gift. I've actually done this one a gazillion years ago. It's a lot of fun, relatively easy, and rewarding. You'll really make someone feel special with a gift like this. And yep, you need rhinestones. You want some sparkle.
For some ESPECIALLY luscious Easter eggs to decorate your house or give as a present, garnish them with bits n' pieces of broken costume jewelry. Just thought of that one...
You can do very interesting things with glass jars, inside and/or out. I know one person who makes lovely arrangements in jars and displays them in her home. But with some glue (and possibly wire) you can turn a simple glass jar, any shape or size, into a masterpiece!
I know people often make their own jewelry creations from these lots, because that's what I hear the most. I've seen absolutely spectacular pieces made from junk/craft/repair typelots.
Here's one I've been meaning to try... I've seen old phones literally transformed into works of art.
And one I tried years ago... There's some fascinating posibilities with beads (etc...) and clothing. These lots are very cost effective ways to find materials, but you may want to ask a few questions regarding contents. And the clothes are so delicate that only handwashing works. Still, I used jeans and had a ball.
Handmade, one of a kind greeting cards that will get anyone's attention.
Also, lots of possibilities for embellishing curtains and adding a very personal touch.
Junk lots can be very helpful if you are making your own party favors, and even for decorting depending on the type of party. They work especially well with if it's a party for children.
One last little thought... Depending on the QUALITY of the junk lot, you may actually find some perfectly fine "as is" gifts for holidays, birthdays, etc... For example, I never know what to do with the more current costume stuff, so even if it's new, it gets tossed into a junk lot. Plenty of sellers mix in wearable stuff than can be rescued and this will save you money and time if you need gifts.
IT'S WONDERFUL THAT ONEPERSON'STRASH IS TRULY ANOTHER PERSON'S TREASURE!
If my guide was at all inspirational, I'd so appreciate it if you vote YES.
THANK YOU!
