I recently won an auction for a brand new Callaway FT-i driver with a Fujikura 586 stiff graphite shaft. This is a driver that lists for $499. I won it for $200. I thought I got a tremendous deal. I began to notice little things on the driver that made me suspicious. The sticker on the driver didn't state it was an FT-i. It read "Callaway BB 460 QR Reg". The lettering on the bottom of the driver was not white, but had a slight orange tint to it. The shaft was really whippy for a stiff shaft.
I gepared it to the one on Callaway's website. The ferrule between the shaft and clubhead was all wrong. The front face was a dull metal finish instead of a mirror like finish. The alignment mark on the top of the crown wasn't centered at all. I emailed the seller and filed a dispute with Paypal andthe seller graciously refunded my money.
This was a really close replica. It fooled me when I first received it. The seller didn't realize they were replica's until he got alot of disputes filed with paypal. Some people are still unaware these replica's exist and they are playing with these fake clubs. Soon these fake clubs will be back on okay. There is a serial number by the hosel. If you are going to purchase one of these drivers on okay, ask for the serial number. Then email Callaway and they can verify if the serial number is valid. Hope this helps my okay family.
